The new Apple M1 processor has brought with it many improvements. These include increased performance, significantly longer battery life and a cooler operating temperature. While these benefits are good news it is important to realize that the transition from Intel processors to Apple processors is a work in process and some issues are to be expected and must be noted. These issues will not affect users who are using their computers for browsing the web, checking emails, using Apple applications or using the latest version of Microsoft Office for example. But several other applications, including a majority of those from Adobe, are not yet fully compatible with the M1 processor. Many are currently working very well via an emulation mode (a component of macOS Big Sur called Rosetta 2) but others will not work at all. Please refer to this link (https://isapplesiliconready.com/) for the latest application compatibility updates before committing to the purchase of a new M1 based computer.
